Changes are coming

Just got back from the cardiologists office and I am getting off some more meds.  Hooray.  He was very happy with my EKG and how my heart sounds. He told me I could start walking outside for 20-30 minutes. I didn’t think that would happen for another 3 weeks.  I felt better just hearing all that.  Tomorrow morning I am going to walk around the neighborhood. I did a lot of walking with Kathy today from the doctors office and then the grocery store.  Pain is the same as is the tightness in most muscles, but I am encouraged to do some real walking tomorrow.

  1. This is great news! Just take it slow! Many patients in the office have been asking about you. Glad I can tell them all you are ahead of schedule. A very Merry Christmas to you and your family. Bill

  2. That’s great news, Michael. So glad to hear it. You know, it’s funny… you have all these people (patients, colleagues, friends and family) who are clearly concerned for you and wishing you a speedy recovery. But then there are all these other people who have never even met you, who keep checking in with all of us to see how you’re doing. What a network. Everyday someone asks me how you are. From 1,700 miles away, that’s pretty good. Lord knows how many prayer lists you’re on. (Pun intended.) All those prayers and well-wishes are good, positive energy coming your way from every direction. Just a thought. Want to be sure you know how much we all love you and want your pain to go away and the wind to be at your back. We’ve got you, Mike. Love, Katie

  3. That is great news! Good thing that the weather isn’t crazy! You can walk an not worry about slipping and breaking a hip:) Everyone here at WSC asks about you and are so happy to hear you are doing great! Even my dad asks how you are doing. You have a big following! I hope you and Kathy and the kids have a wonderful Christmas!!!! We will be thinking of you!

  4. Mike,
I’ve enjoyed the posts and “seeing” how well you are doing every day. Not sure why but I’ve received the Texas Heart Institute Journal for the last couple of decades. In the current issue they featured the 8th Current Trends in Aortic and Cardiothoracic Surgery. The lead article was Replacement of the Proximal Arch in patients with Bicuspid Aortic Value. I’ll save you the copy. Stay well and have a great Christmas with your family. Tom
