Just arrived in my new room. ICU kicked me out. Got my chest tubes out and my jugular vein catheter out. Pain is still intense. Found out my aorta was paper thin and could have ruptured any day. Makes the decision to have all this pain worthwhile. Pain and fatigue worst part now. More later.
So glad you are in your own room. You should be able to get some sleep now, take it from me. Mimi and I would love to come visit you tomorrow if you are up for visitors. Prayers are with for a speedy recovery.
Tomorrow or Thursday would be fine
24 hours and you’re already moving on. Good work, over achiever! Michael, knowing now how thin your aorta was is simply mind-blowing. Your notion to get an exam and subsequent decision to do the surgery is all you. Your heart and brain knew that it was what you had to do. You are stronger than anyone for following through and with such speed and thorough research. A good doctor AND a good patient! Keep on, brother. xo, katie
Your strength is amazing. We are all pulling for your speedy recovery. One day at a time.
Wow!!!! So glad you have a second chance to be with us for the next 50 years! Yikes! I hope you are letting the nurses take care of you! Hope the pain gets better fast!!! You’ll be as good as new soon!
Mike,
